Plain or Blank labels are 60% of our business, and can be made from many different materials.
What material is used is dependent on your individual requirements.
What the label has to go on (the substrate), at what temperature, and are there any environmental issues. (Wet, cold, hot, chemical etc). Plain Labels can be written on by hand or may be used with a dedicated label printer. Direct Thermal labels use the heat from the printer to provide the image and are to be used for short term labelling. Direct Thermal labels tend to go black in the sun from heat and will fade after a short time (similar to your shopping docket).
Thermal Transfer Labels should be used for long term life as a ribbon is used and it will not fade or darken over time. This type of label is best in harsh environments. Please talk to us about your requirements so that we can help you make the correct choice.
